So it begins again

I deserved a break, I’m happy with my choice. I know of some others who have been waiting, fervently hitting the refresh button on their browser for a hint, even a slight indication that there might possibly be a change on the front page. To no avail.

After a deep and meaningful meeting, sometimes even tearful, I granted myself a months reprieve from posting on here. I have essentially posted non-stop on a weekly to fortnightly basis for over 3 years now and I felt the world could be without my musings for an extra couple of weeks past the normal deadline.

Of course, Bill would disagree.

During my hiatus a lot has happened, christmas has come and gone, a new year has started, people have stopped work and subsequently gone back, etcetera, etcetera.

A new venture has been started for Fatloaf Industries, The Fatloaf Brewery. That’s right, I, with the assistance and council of PJ, will be brewing various drinks of the amber variety. To begin with it will only be beer, there are lots of choices to make so it shouldn’t be too hard to continue with this side of things for a while. We’re just waiting until the heat wave abates and his garage is slightly cooler. The first will be a lager, tentatively titled Fatlagier. If I could be bothered putting the right characters to put an umlaut above the a, I would. At this stage we will be brewing some tests, laying some down for a period of months and trying some others along the way. All in preparation for a spring release, my hope is to have several flavours going at the same time but only time and success will determine whether this happens. Being that I’m a lover of fine beer as are most of the group (with the exception of a few, I won’t mention names), I think it should at least be moderately successful.

As part of this venture, names will be required, head on over to the forums and put your suggestion down for a name of a beer. If its accepted, we’ll take all the credit. It’s only fair.

I have started plans for the 3rd Fatloaf Karting Bonanza, at this point I estimate it to be late February, early March when it will happen. This time hopefully someone who isn’t a ring-in from Spence’s crowd will win it, i.e. one of the mooks. It will be another 10-kart event, 90 laps as per before with 15 lap changeovers for the teams. There was a full field last time so I expect there to be the same this time, if I can get more kart’s that’d be nice but at this stage its a 10-kart maximum race, get your name down fast.

So, this will do for now, this was only to let you know that I’m still around, the site’s still running and more activities will be occuring on the Fatloaf front all through the year.

I’ll go into my xmas a bit and NYE in my next post, there’s a lot to talk about. Until then.

wake up, an eye is upon you, staring straight down and keenly through, seeing all that you are and everything that you can never be.
