ride em 'cowboy

Well hello there, its been a couple of weeks since I graced you with my wordsmith abilities, but its better than the other ‘fatloaf thugs’ who populate this site. Slackers. Get into them, make them feel bad for not posting on what is possibly the most influential site known to mankind. I might be slightly exaggerating but it’s not the first time and it won’t be the last.

It has been two entertaining and busy weeks, I have upped my gym attendance levels and have started going to bed earlier. It’s starting to have an effect. For one, I’m not tired all the time, the other is that I’ve replaced ‘being tired’ with ‘being sore’. Not sure I’ve come up strong on the deal front there.

We had State Team trials the weekend just gone and I’d just like to say categorically, I bowled like shite. Just didn’t have it for this weekend, at least now I can go in more interstate tournaments and make some money. Thats the plan anyway. So, instead of bowling on Sunday and Monday I went to a BBQ at my old bosses place on Sunday and went to the Adelaide Cup on Monday with Matty and a few others from the gym. All in all, the weekend was still good.

Spence fared a bit better than me though, he bowled well enough on Saturday to make the cut and then held a strong spot right up until the last games on Monday. A disappointment for both of us but at least there’s always something good to learn from it.

I tell you what, I have a sore neck from all the looking at the phillie’s on Monday. I’m not talking about the horses either. I sore some of the shortest skirts and the skimpiest tops that have ever been put under a sewing machine. It was great, Matt says he’ll be letting me know when he’s off to another racing event. I think I’ll be there too. It almost makes me want to go across for the Melbourne Cup. I’m sure that’d be a few notches better.

I did manage to secure myself a good spot for the watching of the actual cup. I wandered up into the grandstand area and then into a secure eating type area, no security was around so I thought I’d give it a shot. I sat down for a bit at the MLC table and chatted to some of the people there, it was more out of courtesy than me being interested in what they had to say. After I got myself a free drink I noticed the cup was to start in a few minutes so I wandered down to the nearest corporate box with an open door, which, in this case, was the Fisher & Paykel one I think. I can’t really remember, it wasn’t an important detail. I got myself another drink and a bit of cake and proceeded to introduce myself to a few guys in there. I watched the cup, watched some ladies and then left shortly aftewards. In and out, stealth-like, without security being any the wiser. Not unlike a ninja.

I am ten ninjas.

We’ve got a couple of events coming soon on the Fatloaf/Mook calendar. I’m in the process of organising a date for the second Fatloaf Karting Bonanza which I’ve tentatively titled, “Raiders of the Lost Title” in relation to the fact that we lost the title to a couple of ring in peg bashers that Spence brought along.

It won’t happen again.

The other is The Boy’s 21st, coming up in a matter of weeks it should be a corker. I for one am pleased to see that he’s survived this long, he had some considerable odds to come up against; short, Gav’s brother, a penchant for wandering around without a shirt on, a slight temper which show’s itself on the soccer pitch whether it be indoor or out. So it’s good that he’s made it so that we can at least celebrate the event.

Stay tuned, you’ll hear all about it on here.

I can’t remember if I mentioned the new gallery but oh well, anyway, there’s a new gallery. I got sick of hosting all the photo’s so I’ve moved them to flickr. You can still get to it from the same address but it just takes you elsewhere. With the new site nearing completion, Fatloaf 3.0 will have a slightly different gallery area which just uses those photo’s rather than a separate address.

I’m probably going to redo the forums too, its been a while.

Anyway, good day to you all and I hope you enjoy the weather.

You’ll write about my 21st? Probably a good thing being as I probably won’t remember it. A few of the lads (yourself included) have vowed to get me quote: Shitfaced :end quote. I feel I am up for such a task.

But my temper on the soccer pitch? Indoor, certainly. But I will be behaved on the outdoor pitch. Have you seen some of the guys we play against? Knuckles dragging on the ground and a 45colt in the glove compartment!!
