Thats right loungeroom sports fans, poker talk. If you aren’t a fan of the apparent evilness that is gambling and the vices that come with it then you’d best leave. It’s ok, we all understand. You’re a freak.

When I say gambling, in this case, I mean real gambling, i.e. Roulette (Russian or otherwise), Craps, Blackjack, Baccarat, etc. I will throw horse racing, greyhounds and back alley cock fighting into the mix but since I don’t partake in those I don’t care about them. I definitely don’t mean anything that is an absolute waste of fucking time like a poker machine, I abhor them completely and have very little time for those who spend countless hours on them trying to coax some lunch money out of them. Do you people realise its a computer? A 100% computer controlled “random” number generator. I highlight the term random because its random only in the sense that it chooses when you win, not a random decision it makes between your button presses and the pre-determined percentage return rate as layed out by the owner of the establishment to cover any bikie/organised crime debts they may have.

Then again, maybe I’m just being cynical.

Paul and myself ventured down to the casino last Wednesday evening for the opening of the poker tables at the Adelaide Casino, being a fan of this wonderful game I think its a great sign to see it back here. It’s been a good three years since the last tournament was held in Adelaide and with the growing trend of Texas Holdem around the planet it was only a matter of time before we got tables again. I haven’t played on them yet but I intend to before the too long, I’ll let them settle a bit first, let them try and weed out the overly obvious viewers of the World Poker Tour with their big head gear and dark sunglasses. Whatever works for you I suppose.

I did go again on Saturday night with Matt and a few others but I ended up playing Blackjack instead, came up a few dollars ahead too. Which is more than I can say for Paul on the previous Wednesday, better luck next time eh. Maybe I’ll show you how to play and win.

If you’re a ricer fan, then you’d better head on down to Evans Clarke Auctioneers on the 3rd and 4th of August as they’re getting rid of the excess stock from Japanese Motorsport. So there’ll probably be lots of spare parts to glue to your car if you’re willing to compete for them. Also, on more ricer news the Drift Australia Championships are on at the Mallala raceway on the 7th of August with practice and qualifying on the Saturday beforehand. I’ll probably be heading down there with G.Reg if I don’t bowl all that well at the Barossa Cup which is the same weekend.

This weekend looks to be quite a busy one, I’ve got basketball to go to on Friday night, Lill is worried about getting into a fight with one of the members of the other team, personally I think it would liven up the whole thing. There’s nothing like a bit of oncourt biffo during a basketball game. It’s good stuff. Anyway, I’m sure she could stand up quite well to a few boxing manouveurs, we’ll see what happens. On Saturday evening I’ve got some indoor rock climbing to do with the gym guys, should be a good bit of fun. Who knows, we may end up at the casino again afterwards.

For those who don’t remember, there are a couple of other guys who post on here, Paul, Spence and Kiz. They haven’t posted in a while and personally I think its a disgrace. Paul has still got a New Years report to do as he was supposed to do earlier in the year, good work Paul, I know how busy you are. Please, don’t get up. As for Spence and Kiz, well Spence sometimes posts up here, just not too frequently and Kiz is just plain lazy. He’s got about half a dozen Eeyore reports to submit but that’ll probably be a while. If any of the avid viewers of Fatloaf feel like harassing them into posting on here just put something in the comments or email them here, here and here.
