merry xmas to all and to all get drunk
What a hectic couple of weeks its been. My apologies to those expecting something last week and then receiving nothing like Oliver when he simply asked ‘can I have some more guv?’. Again, your hopes were dashed when I didn’t do anything this week either. Well that was because I was lazy, I’m on holidays and I’m spending as little time in front of the computer as possible. Its not really working but I’m giving it a red hot go.
So for a lot of people they’ve stopped work for the wonderful xmas break. I for one like this period, its full of wonder and joy. Wonder because you have no idea how you got home after drinking that much alcohol and joy at realising you still have your pants. See, it all comes together for some xmas cheer.
The Friday before the last week of work (this would be the 10th of December for those keeping count), I wandered out for a bit of an evening out with Sir Paul and Gavin of Lynch, we went and saw the ever funny Hale and Pace at Her Majesty’s theatre. After once again trying this new trend of being early, Pauls fiance saw me about 5mins before it started as I was wandering around out the front looking like a vagrant as I waited for Gav and Paul to arrive, fortunately she was an employee there and just ushered me straight through to the seats she’d organised for us. Paul and Gav arrived shortly after. I agree with Gav in saying that all they had to do was their version of the William Tell Overture and I would have been a happy man. Classic stuff. Of course they did do this late in the piece and it did indeed make me happy. It does seem they are getting a little tired, but they still are a pretty good duo. Maybe next time they can organise some sort of advertising. It’d be nice.
We wandered over to the London Tavern after this for a bit of a beverage with some other boys who happened to be there. Personally I think the London is starting to be the place to go when you just turn 18. Soo many little girls with short skirts and no idea and boys with fuzzy top lips and an attitude so big it amazes me that they haven’t been schooled in the art of ‘shutthefuckup’. After the London, we moved over to some more entertainment for the evening, the Ralph Magazine Swimsuit Model competition over at The Cavern. Lovely stuff that. Lets just say that I’d like to order 1xSimone right now. Where do I send my money.
Last week was fun. Lots of starting late, finishing early, no work during the day. It was grand. Wednesday delivered one of the largest hangovers I think I’ve ever had after an emergency last minute bbq at my boss’ place on Tuesday night. I ended up crashing at his place after helping him finish a bottle of scotch and a bottle cognac. He wasn’t much better off. All in all a good week.
It all ended with the xmas dinner for my employer which was a black tie affair held at the Hyatt Regency in the ballroom. The lady I had on my arm for the evening looked absolutely gorgeous, I’m sure she held the attention of a few of the males that were there. I’m certain of that. We wandered on down to the Ramsgate Hotel afterwards to watch the man Spence at work running the show on the security front down there. I tell you, I had no idea there were that many nice looking females in Adelaide let alone in the one place. I must venture down there again soon while the weather is holding.
That essentially ended my working year. I am on leave right now counting the days until I leave for Queensland for a big new years bash at my coaches place. Sorry to the guys I normally party down with on NYE, have to mix it up sometimes. I’ll be back next year.
The Fat n Lazy Camping Tour returned for 2004 last weekend too, I have some fantastic photo’s of the area and of the shirtless Bill (a sight to behold I assure you) during this momentous event. Check out the gallery if you don’t believe me. Much alcohol was bought and consumed during this overnight event with meat devoured with gusto. I think the quote of the weekend was “my body is my temple” from Bill as he finished off the 8th can of something alcoholic. Of course, being Rapid Bay it wouldn’t be quite right unless there were some wannabe boy racer’s with their plastic fantastic rice burners and P plates flying high. They were a minor event though, they just wanted to stay up past their bedtime once that happened they went to bed and all was good. I reckon I need a bigger swag though, the single seater just doesn’t cut it anymore, Bill’s two berth swag seems to be the go. I will have to investigate.
This week has been a whole lot of nothing really, I’m on leave, nothing much to do except xmas shopping. I took care of that during the week fairly easily. I prefer it that way, go with a goal, don’t wander aimlessly like gazelles in a field waiting for the lion to take them down in a dramatic display of african violence. Okay, maybe that analogy kind of drifted off the point but you get the idea, you stand around for too long and someone’s gonna hurt you. Its just the way it goes at xmas time, the stupid people come out into the light and they want someone to play with.
As it stands, my home has been invaded with xmas carols. My mother is singing along to them on the TV. Its something she does, I don’t want to take that away from her. Fortunately I have much in the way of violent movies to ease my discomfort. I reailse carols have their place, just not here. I believe they are a modern brainwashing technique being used by the corporations to increase the spending of those who are caught in the wake of the subtle undertones and subminal messages contained within these carols. It’s a conspiracy I tell you, why will noone listen.
I keep bugging Laura too via sms, she loves carols too so I’ll keep annoying her so that she doesn’t get to sing them as often. Its how I have fun.
I’m in the process of finally putting up some photo’s from the Youth Challenge bowling event, when the batteries are charged on my camera I’ll put some more up too. Maybe. If I get around to it. There is the large possibility I’ll be drunk tomorrow so it may have to wait. I might get surly otherwise.
For everyone out there who has the (mis)fortune of reading this and even perhaps for those who don’t, have a very merry xmas. Enjoy the day with your family if you can, its always good to indulge that little bit further because it can all be fixed up with a quick, unfulfilled new years resolution in a weeks time.
Have fun.
