Rap It up – BBQ Chicken and Bacon
For those of you who are not aware, there is a new eatery located on Gawler Place between Grenfell Street and Rundle Mall. As you may have guessed by the title, it does not sell subs/sandwiches or other yeast based products of that format. It does in fact, sell those fillings served in a thin lavish bread. Now, as per the Subway style, it has a variety of flavours of bread. These are White, Cheese, Sun Dried Tomato and Herb & Garlic.
I opted for the Herb & Garlic with the following: lettuce, cucumber, Spanish onion, red capsicum and BBQ sauce as the condiment.
I also was granted the choice of wether I wished for my wrap to be toasted. Truly, a magical option for those who enjoy their Yiros. Warming that bread slightly gave it an unnecessary, but welcome texture boost. I found the lettuce etc. to be fresh and crisp, the chicken to be tender and the BBQ Sauce to have that ever so delicious “smokey†element to it. It was a must satisfying meal, coupled with a variety of beverage choices that are stocked, I recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
Some other good points to note are that:
o You can have it in either 14†or 16â€(mega)
o Adam Kaszas (aka Lunchbox) manages the place. Therefore, once the store is really up and running, discounts-a-plenty!!
o They sell cookies and Danish (custard will need to be provided)
There are many appealing flavours to choose from and my next choice shall either be the Garlic Chicken Fillet or the Meat Lovers. The Meat Lovers has all the meats you want and some of them that you shouldn’t, but do anyway ie. Salami Is it too much meat or not enough? You be the judge.
I give the BBQ Chicken and Bacon Wrap 4 out of 5 HornsFor a full 5, it needed more bacon. You can’t include bacon in the title and then not produce half a pigs worth.
