the countdown begins
The countdown to the gala event in my bowling calendar, its the darling of the tournaments that I compete in. The one, the only SA Under 25′s Youth Challenge.
This event is pretty cool, this will be number 4 for me as I only found out about it when I was 20. If you cast your minds back to about this time last year I posted up about how I blitzed everyone and took gold in almost everything. I feat I hope to better this year. Being defending champion in quite a few of the events is something I’ve looked forward to doing.
Spence, of course, has some work to do this year as he didn’t even qualify for the final event last year. Good work.
This year I will be bowling for Norwood Bowl, for the last two I have been at Ingle Farm but I got traded as they offered a better deal. Its big business this stuff. Hopefully I can help bring home another trophy to my new team. Spence will be bowling for Lizbef (or Elizabeth for those without the knowledge of the local lingo). Shoes are optional for that team, as are jeans with holes in them. Woman have to wear legging’s I think, I’m not sure.
I will have an official fatloaf photographer on hand for the weekend’s proceedings to document this mighty event. If at anytime you wish to come and see what the hell this bowling guff is then head on over to the Village Bowling Centre in Golden Grove on Saturday or Sunday. We’ll be there all day so anytime will be good. Spence will sign autographs only at specific periods and please don’t crowd him while he’s bowling. He’s trying to concentrate.
During this time I would like to mention that Woodville Bowl had a ‘bit of an accident’ on Thursday night with a rather large fire caused by either a photocopier or a $40 laminator. Hooray for high quality cheap electronics. It caused about $1m+ worth of damage so it will be out of action for at least 6months while they rebuild. Hopefully it will be better when it reopens.
I picked myself up a new AV receiver and a nice set of speakers on Friday for the lounge room. Lets just say the room is smaller now with these in it. I am very impressed and hope to soon be making full use of the system with much in the way of loud dvd’s. All good stuff.
I’ll post some more stuff up later in the week but now my hunger is getting the better of me, I’m going to go and get something to eat.

Scott, what can i say… you say it perfect every year. I myself am looking forward to this year, the arguments have started already, yes 1 week before the tournamet. Who knows what might happen this year… something will have to be deemed illegal, it has been the trend over the past couple of years.
Go team Norwood and Spence, if i make masters and u dont, ill give u my spot, i wont be here for it

Well Scotty, It will be interesting to see how you go now I have tinkered with your approach. I am sure it will bve very successful…. about a week AFTER the Under 25’s has finished LOL. I t will take that long to break all the bad habits you have picked up over the years!.
In all seriousness, it should be a very interesting (and hopefully not controversial weekend)

well, what can i say, where to start, oh yes i belive scott u left a 5 pin off a very nice pocket. haha, i rode a 3-6-10 so i cant talk. great weekend for the cross road gang, HUGE scoring, i think masters cut was 200 odd. i was looking at the fatloaf ‘gear’, i love to get one off ya scott! just email me.

It was once again a privelidge to bowl in the same team as you, and to bowl doubles together. It would seem that we didnt quite get the back to back that we wanted but a fun weekend none the less. Hopefully next year we can find 2 other bowlers who are good enough to carry us through the tournament. (It will be like a float at the pageant, you and i can just sit there and wave to all the lovely people)
Good luck to Spence in masters, there aint nothin like makin it by default!!! (how would you like another silver???)
