two things you shouldn't have for breakfast

I’m a fan of new things, no doubt about it, however there is a limit to which I will go for food. Turkey bacon and chicken ham are two of those things that have crossed over that imaginary line in the sand.

For those that are aware, bacon and ham come from that ‘magical’ animal, the pig. In Malaysia, the Muslim religion is practiced predominantly and therefore anything to do with the pig as a food source is frowned upon fairly heavily. Therefore, for the very common ‘buffet breakfast’ they have, to semi-appease the tourists they have put out turkey bacon and chicken ham. Now, I’ve had forms of chicken slices before, its a nice lunchmeat, but this is not that kind that I’m used to. Its a little thicker and served a whole lot earlier than I’ve had it before. The bacon is more of a browny colour than the deep red/pink that bacon should look like. It taste’s ok, but when its got making use of the bandwagon that is the wonderous bacon, it had better be a damn good taste. Its got a lot to be compared to.

The last couple days have been a bit of a blur, more shopping than I think I’ve done in a such a small timeframe before. Its hard shopping for clothes for myself here, being that they are such a tiny people I am a veritable giant compared to most of them. So the sizes tend to stop about 5 lower than I’m used to. I think I’ll be trying more european countries for my fashion efforts, its a lot easier. I’ve been hooking myself up with plenty of copy t-shirts and bags. For the girls out there, the copy handbags are plentiful and high in quality. I can pretty much guarantee that you can’t tell the difference between the real thing and these, you even get an ‘official’ certificate of purchase from the manufacturer, the one thats being copied. They’re good that way.

My main goal is to have the fatloaf shirts be copied by the guys here but I think that will take some doing first. It will take some work but I think I can do it.

Well this brings me to the end of the post, the last post as it were. I leave this place of high humidity and bartering market people for Australia tomorrow afternoon and will arrive far too early on Sunday morning. The trip has been fun and it was good to come back. The scenery is beautiful here and if you’ve a penchant of the Mark Mills variety (asian women), then you will be satisfied muchly. I’ll just clarify the driving situation as well, while it does certainly resemble that of an indy car circuit with everyone vying for the best position at the next set of lights regardless of lane position or size of vehicle, its fairly smooth. Granted most of the bike riders here don’t care much for traffic lights, they don’t really apply to them I suppose. They’re different.

I’ll upload a heap of photo’s when I get back, the gallery is there now but its only got two pictures in it. Rather boring really.

Thats it, the end of the trip. It was fun, I spent too much money and ate too much food. Everything else I could have done with more of.
